Tour 4 Days From Marrakech to Erg Chigaga
Day 1: Marrakesh – Agdz
Your tour starts in Marrakesh. You will be picked up from your hotel and you will head towards the biggest range of mountains in Morocco, the High Atlas Mountains. You will enjoy the beautiful sceneries and landscapes of the mountains and also views of small Berber villages in the valleys as you drive south. You will then follow the road to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Morocco) where the biggest cinema studios are (you can visit the studios). Afterwards, you will head to Agdz where you stay overnight.
Day 2: Agdz – Erg Chigaga (desert)
After breakfast, you will drive to the Sahara desert, passing by a lot of old villages and oases of palm tree along Draa Valley. Around midday you arrive in Tamegroute, the green ceramic place, which is also known for an old Koranic library that has old books of different sciences. You can pay a visit to both the pottery factory and the library. You will then drive one hour to reach the last village before the sahara desert, where the road ends. There you will stop for lunch. Afterwards you will drive 2h:00 to get to high dunes where the camp is. When you arrive there, you will go camel riding in the dunes for an hour and then go back to the camp. You will have dinner and then sit around the camp fire and listen to local music played by the people at the camp.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga – Ait Ben Haddou
You will leave the camp after breakfast and cross the desert (3 hours driving offroad) via the dry Iriki Lake to reach Foum Zguid where you will stop for a coffee. You will then drive towards Taznakhet, the berber carpet capital, where you can stop to visit the women cooperative for making berber carpets. After that, you will drive 1h:20 to arrive in the old Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, the movie set, you can visit the old Kasbah or postpone it till the next morning. There you will stay overnight.
Day 4: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
After visiting the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, you will head north towards another interesting old Kasbah (Kasbah Talouet) in the Atlas Mountains. You will stop to visit the old Kasbah and then drive across the Atlas Mountains and back to Marrakech.
