Before you travel
Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Citizens of many countries, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, can visit Morocco without a visa for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for your whole stay; six months of validity is recommended.
Rules change and depend on your nationality, so please check with the Moroccan embassy or consulate in your country before you book flights.
What is the best time to visit the desert?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant. Winter days are sunny but desert nights are cold, and July and August are very hot. See “When to go” on our home page for each month.
What should I pack for a night in the desert?
Comfortable shoes, a warm layer for the evening (even in summer nights can be cool, and in winter they are cold), sunglasses, sun cream, a hat or scarf against sun and sand, and a small bag for the night: big suitcases usually stay in the car.
Which currency is used, and can I pay by card?
The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD). It is generally not available outside Morocco, so you withdraw or change money on arrival. ATMs are found in towns, but not in villages or desert camps: carry some cash for small purchases, drinks and tips.
Bookings and payment
How do I pay for my booking?
You choose when you book: pay on arrival, or by bank transfer. Some offers ask for a deposit; the amount is shown before you confirm. We do not take card payments online for now.
Is my booking confirmed straight away?
Some offers are confirmed instantly. Others are a booking request: we check availability and confirm by email or WhatsApp, usually within a few hours. Your confirmation email has a link to view or manage your booking at any time.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Each offer has its own cancellation conditions, shown on the offer page, before you book and in your confirmation email. When free cancellation applies, you can cancel online from the link in your email. To change dates or details, just contact us.
Why do you ask for my passport details?
Moroccan law requires hotels, riads and guesthouses to register every guest with the police. We only collect what this registration needs, and only for accommodation bookings. See our privacy policy.
During your trip
Do you pick us up from our hotel?
Many tours and activities include pick-up from your hotel or riad: it is shown on the offer page, and you tell us the address when you book. For other places, ask us and we will arrange it.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Most tours and stays welcome families, and children aged 2 to 11 often have a lower price. Tell us their ages so we can plan the right pace, car seats and rooms.
Is it safe to travel in southern Morocco?
Southern Morocco is generally a calm and welcoming region for travellers, including women travelling alone. As anywhere, use common sense: keep valuables close in busy places and agree on prices before you buy. Our team is a WhatsApp message away during your trip.
What about travelling during Ramadan?
Tours run as usual during Ramadan. Some cafés and restaurants close during the day or change their hours, and the evening meal (ftour) is a special moment you can share. Out of respect, avoid eating, drinking or smoking in the street during the day.
Should I tip?
Tipping is customary in Morocco but never compulsory. Drivers, guides and camp staff appreciate a tip if you are happy with their work; give what feels right to you.
